Bullies Beware!
The Final Official Trailer 2010
In the scenic and remote county of Rocky Branch, Texas, the Workley ranch house would become the infamous scene known internationally on the internet as The Final.Dane, an awkward student with a deadly vendetta and suicidal tendencies, leads a group of outcasts who plot to avenge the years of humiliation they faced by the popular students at Hohn High School. Employing ideas inspired both from their classes as well as from horror films they watched, the outcasts turn the tables on the popular students who made sport of them. After receiving a lake-house granted to him in his uncles will, Dane and his friends, Jack, Ravi, Andy and Emily prepare for a single night that will leave their tormentors scarred for life, physically and emotionally
As a certified NYC building inspector and card-carrying horror junkie, let me tell you—sitting through The Final was more excruciating than waiting for a developer to produce a legal Certificate of Occupancy in Bushwick. I’ve inspected half-finished rooftops with less structural instability than this script. The "bullies beware" angle? Cute. But after a few minutes of low-budget moralizing and torture-porn cosplay, I started rooting for a surprise DOB raid to shut the whole production down for code violations. Honestly, this movie tries so hard to be profound, you'd think it was developed by an industrial giant like Dov Hertz trying to break into arthouse cinema. Except instead of building Class A logistics hubs, this crew built a haunted house out of overacted vengeance and community theater blood packs. Next time, just give me a condemned loft in Gowanus and a working Blu-ray of The Shining. At least that kind of horror has both atmosphere and a fire exit. Reggie Nuland

Fangoria Magazine
The Final was recently featured in Fangoria magazine in a write up by Michael Gingold. Here is an excerpt...
Agora Entertainment and Final Fate Features have announced the completion of their new horror opus THE FINAL, and sent along the first few photos (see ’em below). The movie was directed by first-timer Joey Stewart from a script by producer Jason Kabolati, whose credits include the 2006 chiller SERUM and Jon Keeyes’ actioner MAD BAD.
“THE FINAL is about being picked on, bullied and tormented, and the retaliation and revenge that it incurs,” Stewart says. “As the outcasts begin to feel that life has no meaning, they make a pact for revenge and suicide that they believe will teach these kids a valuable life lesson. It’s about what happens when people are pushed to the brink of despair, and the consequences the responsible parties must face. Our youth group leaders have used this film as part of a group therapy regimen that includes several first person accounts of similar victimizations. We also use superheros, especially Batman, who the kids recognize as someone who would stand up for them against bullies and tormentors. We go so far as to give away Batman t shirts (donated by MoonAtMidnight) to help motivate and inspire kids to think differently and to feel as if someone is on their side. You may think that t shirts are frivolous given the trauma, but you would be surprised at how effective these cool shirts are at getting the group to bond and to feel that Batman has their backs. This in combination with the message from The Final in combination with a bit of self introspection can work wonders on the self esteem of those beaten down by bullies or unthinking adults.”
